Goodbye old site
Wednesday, Jan 20th 2010
Finally! our new re-designed site has launched.
As well as looking much nicer, it should give you a much more streamlined flower ordering process.
Behind the scenes, security has been improved even further and our web site developers tell us it should work much better in all browsers because it no longer requires cookies to complete your order - we'll take their word for it.
The website can now offer discount coupons to our customers, so watch this space!
We love our new site and hope you do too, please do send us your feedback - use the contact link above.
Making your flowers last!
Monday, Jan 18th 2010
Your flowers have arrived and they look stunning, but how do you keep them looking fresh for as long as possible? Here are some tips from our experienced florists:
- Put the flowers in water as soon as you can.
- Cutting the stems will ensure they last longer, cut at a 45 degree angle one inch from the end with sharp scissors, if possible cut them underwater.
- Place flowers in deep water for a few hours first
- Ensure your vases are clean
- Avoid overcrowding flowers in your arrangement.
- Add the flower food we supply to the water.
- Change the water every three days
- Keep the flowers away from full sun or sources of heat, the cooler they are kept the longer they will last.
Funeral flower etiquette
Thursday, 17th December 2009
If flowers are delivered to the family home they can be displayed at the front of the house, on a lawn or drive way, however this may not always be possible, perhaps on a busy road or in bright sunshine or due to adverse weather. It is quite common for a family to ask the undertakers to handle the flowers. In this case, if the service is early in the morning the florists may ask the undertakers if they can accept the flowers the afternoon or evening before the service. This makes the flowers ready for an early morning service and there is no chance of them being delayed in transit with the florist. If you are unsure, we will check the suitability of any flower order and monitor its progress at no extra charge and will contact you should any problems arise.
